Rome Capital won the Smart City Award at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, one of the main international recognitions given to cities that are pioneering new models of public innovation.
The award-winning project, "Rome: the City is Transforming", represents the ongoing evolution of the capital, encompassing urban, economic, administrative, social, and cultural dimensions. It is a public innovation strategy aimed at improving the quality of services, reducing inequalities, supporting sustainable growth, and fostering a new innovation economy rooted in the region.
Rome's participation was coordinated by the House of Emerging Technologies, which curated the AMOR – The Human Side of Innovation stand, transforming it into a space for discussion and cooperation between institutions, businesses, and international networks, together with the Rome Capital, Statute, and Innovation Commission, with the contribution of the Rome Smart City Council. During the three-day conference, numerous delegations and global stakeholders requested meetings to explore Rome's approach to people-centered innovation.
