A program of events for all ages to re-launch the Ostia coastline, and in particular the “Ponente” (western) beaches, as places full of life and opportunities. Promoted by the Department of Culture of Roma Capitale in cooperation with the Assessorato al Patrimonio e alle Politiche Abitative di Roma Capitale, the Teatro del Lido di Ostia, the Elsa Morante Library, and cultural, social, and sports organizations, Un Mare di Cultura will enliven the summer weekends from 27 June to 14 September with free initiatives and events, many of them dedicated to children. These include, for example, workshops and creative laboratories, sports activities and tournaments, live performances, music, poetry readings, and much more.
Among the events scheduled are a stop on the Felicittà tour and the Ostia Queer Festival (11-13 July) organized by the Mario Mieli Homosexual Culture Club. Piazza dei Piroscafi, at the Ostia Idroscalo, will once again host the Punta Sacra Film Fest, created by the Playtown Roma Association and now in its fourth edition. From 11 to 20 July, free screenings will be accompanied by leading figures from Italian cinema and literature, thanks to the collaboration with LETTERATURE Festival Internazionale di Roma, with a tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini and his films.
