The parish was erected on 25 March 1941 by decree of Cardinal Vicar Francesco Marchetti Selvaggiani Postulat salubre fidelium and entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome, then, from 18 January 1962, to the priests of the Congregation of the Sons of St Mary Immaculate. The territory covered the area of the Montespaccato district.
The recognition for civil effects of the vicariate measure was decreed on 5 March 1942. The real estate belongs to the Pont. Opera per la Preservazione della Fede e la Provista di nuove Chiese in Roma. The architectural design is by Tullio Rossi.
On 12-06-2007, two bronze plaques in memory of the visits of the supreme pontiffs Paul VI on 26 March 1967 John Paul II on 6 February 1994 were placed on the portal of the Church - a welcome gift from the Boccea Foundry of the Piscaglia Brothers, blessed by the Sector Bishop Monsignor Tuzia Benedetto. In the church, restored by ArsLabor, three large canvases, which are the first images of our parish, have returned.
For the recordPerhaps not everyone has noticed that the parish (officially founded in 1941) also existed in Piazza Cornelia in a small chapel for the few residents. A plaque commemorates the celebration of the Holy Year 1925. Next to the entrance of the chapel a rudimentary Bell Tower called to prayer. Now the small bell in the church rings to announce the beginning of each celebration.
