The parish is located on the slopes of Monte Mario, at the entrance to the Aurelia valley, which climbs up through the Pineto Park to the Pineta Sacchetti, towards the Gemelli polyclinic.
It is an area at the same time central, transit and peripheral. Central, because it is only a few hundred metres from the Vatican (we can almost touch the dome of St Peter's); transit, because it is overwhelmed by the traffic of those going to work, and with the interchange station between the Viterbo-Rome railway and the metro line A, used by the thousands of commuters who come to work in Rome every day. Peripheral, because it has all the problems of suburbs that have grown up quickly. The typology of buildings is varied: they range from apartment blocks, typical Roman buildings of 4-5 storeys, to intensive and social housing, and all the way up to the valley, where there are numerous shacks of non-EU citizens and people living on the margins, which have taken the place of the old settlement of brick kiln workers of yesteryear. And it was here that Don Guanella and his sisters began their apostolate in the early 1900s, among the brick kiln workers, and where a canteen run by parish volunteers is active today.
