Italy is a wonderful country, where our thousands-year-old culture is tied to the beauty of the landscape and our extraordinary excellences: talents, craftsmen, products.
In this moment of recovery, the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema pays homage to our country with the video "We all love Italy": the most suggestive images of the territory, on the splendid notes by Piero Piccioni from the soundtrack of "C'era una volta" (More than a Miracle), a film by Francesco Rosi with Omar Sharif and Sophia Loren.
With an archive recording, made in China, 85 musicians accompany aerial tracking shots of Italy: from the Colosseum and the Imperial Fora to the "calle" of Venice, from the Duomo of Milan to the Greek temples in Sicily, from Ponte Vecchio to St. Peter's Basilica, from castles to villages, from lakes to islands, from snow-covered peaks to amazing coastlines.
The initiative is also the occasion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Forum Music Village, founded half a century ago by Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli, and Luis Enríquez Bacalov.
Now home to the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema, this is the studio where all the Italian Oscar awards played, over 3000 soundtracks were recorded, such as The Postman, Cinema Paradiso, Life is Beautiful, and where Federico Fellini used to work.
The Forum will become a museum, probably opening in Autumn; people will be able to walk next to "talking walls", to access the historical archive, to admire the musical instruments from famous western movies and the celesta used by Morricone. The museum will also have an app, accessible both remotely and during the visit, to discover all the secrets of fifty years of Italian soundtracks.
Everyone is indispensable as in a large orchestra playing a single symphony. Because #weallloveitaly.
