From 2 February 2026, a €2 ticket is required to enter the basin of the Trevi Fountain, the part closest to the splendid monument.
The introduction of the admission ticket is intended to protect and ensure better maintenance of Rome’s most famous fountain and one of the most iconic in the world, built between 1732 and 1762 to a design by architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini.
Tickets can be purchased online on the official website, at the Civic Museums, Tourist Infopoints, affiliated sales points and at the entrance (by card only) and apply every day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (including the first Sunday of the month) for tourists and non-residents. Admission remains free for residents of Rome and Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale (upon presentation of ID), children under 5 years of age, and persons with disabilities and their caregivers.
On certain days, opening hours may vary occasionally due to maintenance work or public order requirements. For information and updates, please visit the official website fontanaditrevi.roma.it
