Rome Fiumicino is American Airlines’ 2nd most served European airport this summer

from 14 March 2023 to 1 September 2023

For American Airlines, the largest airline globally in terms of number of passengers, fleet size and flight miles, Fiumicino airport will be the second largest airport in Europe in the second half of 2023, ahead of Paris and Madrid and just behind London Heathrow for daily flights operated during the summer. This is an absolute record for the Italian market, confirming Leonardo da Vinci’s growing international prestige.

Thanks to the collaboration between the airline and Aeroporti di Roma, two flights a day from Rome to New York will in fact be operating from summer 2023, with 7 total flights a day to the United States, including the one to Dallas - Fort Worth announced at the end of 2022. Specifically, from 6 July to 15 August, a second daily flight will depart from Rome Fiumicino to New York (JFK) with Boeing 777-200 aircraft. All American Airlines flights between Rome Fiumicino and the US will be operated by modern Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft, offering passengers a complete upscale experience including Business Class and Premium Economy seats, state-of-the-art interiors, live TV streaming, high-speed Wi-Fi, and hundreds of on-demand movies and TV shows usable from each seat.
