On Sunday 17 May at 10.30 pm, art finds new expressions and new spaces: the walls of the Eternal City and the Big Apple become art backgrounds, with the simultaneous projection of the works of about 30 international artists.
A few hours before the reopening of museums and art galleries, the special collective Lazzaro_art doesn’t sleep connects Rome and New York, giving visibility to the artworks created during the lockdown.
In this completely redesigned world, artists have observed, documented, interpreted what happened, showing us that art does not sleep. Art awakens, relieves us, and is not afraid of showing fear.
People, associations, institutions, in possession of a projector, can participate in this extraordinary "setting up", illuminating streets, courtyards, squares, gardens, monuments, and walls with the creations of the participating artists.
The project was born thanks to the collaboration of Claudia Pecoraro, curator and researcher from Rome, with Laura Mega, an Italian artist residing in New York who was in Rome during the quarantine. It was realized in partnership with Alice nella città #cinemadacasa, Associazione Culturale Bianca e Lost & Found Studio.
