A new direct flight between Toronto and Rome

from 21 May 2024 to 31 October 2024

Rome’s Fiumicino airport is confirmed as one of the most important strategic hubs for intercontinental connections: on 10 May Ita Airways inaugurated the first non-stop flight between Leonardo da Vinci airport and Toronto. The connection operates with six weekly frequencies, which will become daily from June to September and decrease to five in October.

The opening of connections between Italy and Canada allows the strengthening of collaboration with a strategic market and allows travelers to reach other destinations within both countries, thus combining tourism and business travel. Not only: Canada is one of the countries with one of the highest presence of Italians abroad in the world and therefore has an influence in the development of return tourism.

The new route is already achieving excellent results in terms of bookings and represents an important product for the company, which is thus increasing its connections with North America, Ita’s first market after Italy. With the direct Rome Fiumicino-Chicago flight inaugurated by Ita Airways at the beginning of April, the number of destinations reached by the company in the United States and Canada rises to 8: a record schedule that places Fiumicino among the best European airports, with a growth of over 30% compared to 2023.
