from 21 December 2020 to 31 March 2021

A way to keep the sport alive and accelerate its restart in total safety: famous for hosting the International Tennis Championships, the Grand Stand Arena of the Foro Italico has been transformed into a large and welcoming open-air gym, with stations available for everyone, from the most experienced athletes to people with mobility difficulties and absolute beginners, in full compliance with anti-COVID measures.

Its 800 square meter area hosts machinery and innovative equipment with video cards and tutorials specially recorded by great athletes. There is also a “kids area” whose access is allowed to accompanied children between the ages of 4 and 12. The maximum capacity is 80 people and everyone can train for a maximum of two hours. To access, certain rules must be respected, for example registering at the entrance, undergoing a temperature measurement, wearing a mask and maintaining an interpersonal distance of at least one meter when not playing sports.

Open seven days a week (from 8 am to 9 pm) and completely free, the new structure is the pilot project of the “Sport nei parchi” program, created by Associazione Nazionale dei Comuni Italiani - the National Association of Italian Municipalities together with Sport e Salute, the State company promoting sports in Italy.
