Yamandu Costa and Armandinho Macedo

The two musicians, talents of Brazilian music, play together for the first time in Rome, as part of I Concerti nel Parco, on the stage of the Casa del Jazz. Authentic virtuosos of their instruments, Yamandu Costa and Armandinho Macedo began playing together in 2000 in Rio de Janeiro and, having discovered on this occasion a strong musical affinity between them, they started a series of concerts in duo, both in Brazil and in Europe.

Their collaboration led them to perform on a vast repertoire of high-level Brazilian music, improvising on compositions by Caetano Veloso, Radamés Gnatalli and Pixinguinha, thus making a significant contribution to the best Brazilian popular music.

Both musicians are also winners of the latest Latin Grammy: Yamandu with the instrumental album Bachianinha in duo with Toquinho, and Armandinho Macedo with the album Rosa of his famous and historic group “A Cor do Som”.
