Virtus Roma GVM - Felice Scandone Avellino

The men’s basketball team based in Rome was founded in 2020 as Virtus Roma 1960 by Alessandro Tonolli and Maurizio Zoffoli. It was subsequently renamed Virtus GVM Roma 1960 in April 2025, following the entry of GVM Care & Research and Team Service as the club’s new majority shareholders, and finally Virtus Roma GVM in October 2026. The team carries on the legacy and sporting history of the historic Rome-based club Pallacanestro Virtus Roma, whose brand it acquired in 2025.

In the 2026-2027 season, the team competes in the Serie B Nazionale Old Wild West, the third tier of the Italian men’s basketball league and the second tier at amateur level. The competition, organised by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro and run under the auspices of the FIP, guarantees two promotion places to Serie A2 and involves four relegations to Serie B Interregionale.

The Palazzetto dello Sport - PalaTiziano in the Flaminio district hosts the club’s home matches. Here, on 21 October, the team will face Felice Scandone Avellino in the rescheduled match from the first round of the first half of the season.
