The Teatro Brancaccio hosts the famous musical, which arrives in Rome with the direction of Chiara Noschese as part of the 2023 Tour with more than 80 legs all over Italy.
Touching, iconic, brilliant: Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a nightclub singer who, after accidentally witnessing a murder, is hidden by the police in an unsuspected place: a convent. As a nun, she has to adapt with difficulty to the strict rules imposed by the inflexible Mother Superior. To the rhythm of irresistible songs, with soul, funky, 70s disco, and Broadway-style pop ballads music, signed by the Oscar winner Alan Menken and directed by Andrea Calandrini, the woman will give life to a nice revolution with her exuberance, transforming the tone-deaf choir of nuns into a true musical phenomenon.
The show, written by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner, is inspired by Emile Ardolino's 1992 film of the same name starring Whoopi Goldberg and has been performed in international theatres for years, captivating audiences all over the world and receiving 5 Tony Award nominations in 2011, including 'Best Musical', and 1 Theatre World Award to the performer Patina Miller in the same year.
Sister Acti is produced by Stage Entertainment in collaboration with Italiana Assicurazioni.
