Rgb Light Experience - 5th edition

Eighteen site-specific light works in four locations, a traveling exhibition that for four days transforms the city into a true open-air museum. Video-illuminators, various types of motorized lights, lasers and sound diffusers are the brushes with which the selected artists will create emotional environments, interacting with the architecture of the places.

Now in its fifth edition and entitled this year Naturare, the urban festival of light art and video-mapping changes its formula to comply with the regulations to combat the spread of COVID-19. Two trucks will be equipped to carry around every day, from 6.30 pm, the works scheduled in one of the four sites chosen, so that they can be seen by those who walk, by car or on public transport, from the windows of the apartments but also live streaming on RGB’s social channels.

Among the sites chosen, three are in the Pigneto and Torpignattara districts (East Rome): Parco Sangalli along the Alessandrino Aqueduct, the Pigneto parking area and the Prenestina section under the elevated arteries of the East Ring Road. New in this edition, the Ligini towers overlooking the EUR lake, which will relive in a new light on the final evening of the event, on 22 December.

With their own peculiarities and with different stories, each location is a suspended place, squeezed between the loss of identity and a perennial condition of randomness and precariousness. For one night, the structures in question can be redeemed: each artist will intervene on the architecture, making it different from the everyday imaginary while the public will be able to explore this particular material heritage by relating it to a new intangible heritage.
