An extraordinary architectural complex and one of the most suggestive archaeological areas of Rome: until 26 September, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7 pm to 10.30 pm (last admission), by purchasing the ticket of the Imperial Forums it is possible to discover a new visit route, with an evening walk from Trajan’s Column to the Forum of Caesar, embarking on a time-travelling journey from 46 BC to 113 AD.
The visit, free with the MIC card, also includes access to the undergrounds of Palazzo Valentini: here, a video by Piero Angela virtually reconstructs the Trajan’s Column to make us discover more about its bas-reliefs with the extraordinary story of the military campaigns led by Trajan for the conquest of Dacia (modern Romania).
After watching the video, the itinerant guided tour continues among the grandiose ruins of the Forum of Trajan and, through the passage under Via dei Fori Imperiali, of the Forum of Caesar, conceived as an extension of the Roman Forum and started by Caesar immediately after the conquest of Gaul.
The visit, which lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes, is conducted by guides in Italian, with access from the ticket office of the Imperial Forums near the Trajan's Column. In compliance with the anti-Covid-19 prevention measures, a limited number of people is allowed per time slot (maximum 7 people every 30 minutes). Visitors are requested to wear masks, use hand sanitizer upon entering, undergo temperature checks, and practice social distancing.
