The Vatican Museums are once again hosting the Music in the Museums concert series this year: from March 14th to November 27th, eleven afternoon concerts will delight visitors to the Vatican Museums and the Castel Gandolfo Museum Complex. An important event that highlights how museums are a vibrant meeting place for art, faith, and culture.
The program offers a rich and varied musical journey: alongside thematic concerts, expressing the sentiments of spiritual life, performances by marching bands, bearers of tradition and a sense of community, return. Young talents from Italian conservatories will also be featured, offering them the opportunity to showcase their talents. In this intertwining of spirituality and tradition, music becomes a common thread, leading visitors on a shared cultural experience through the "song of the seasons."
Thanks to the collaboration with the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM), the bands of the Vatican Gendarmerie Corps, the Pontifical Swiss Guard, the Pontifical Band, and the National Band of the Penitentiary Police will also perform. Further enriching this edition is the participation of the Maria Di Pasquale E.T.S. Musical Cultural Association, which will offer contributions that trace the history of music through the seasons, with pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, Giovan Battista Pergolesi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Niccolò Paganini, and Astor Piazzolla.
The initiative, created in collaboration with GetYourGuide and included in the admission ticket, adds to the Vatican Museums' calendar of cultural events, offering an opportunity to share the beauty and demonstrate the universality of musical language.
