From December 18 to 20, the Auditorium Conciliazione will host the Balletto di Roma's evocative Christmas ballet, with Massimiliano Volpini's extraordinary vision.
Originally created by the company in 2017, the show invites the audience to reflect on the ecological and social dynamics of urban suburbs and human facets, focusing also on the vulnerability of social identity today.
In a completely new version, the show opens against the backdrop of an imaginary suburban neighbourhood, inhabited by young homeless people and isolated from the city centre by a wall, where the gesture of an unknown benefactor rekindles a glimmer of hope. From the edge of the city, with its cracks and graffiti, the second act recalls tradition, revealing an enchanted universe of global dances and eccentric characters.
On stage, with Volpini's original and vibrant choreography and sets and costumes of Erika Carretta, is a cast of great talents - including Tommaso Stanzani as Drosselmeyer and the urban dance of LICC / urban company, curated by Martina Licciardo - giving life to a show that blends the magic of Christmas and the reality of contemporary society, to the beautiful notes of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
