The Roma Tre Orchestra performs Anton Bruckner's Seventh Symphony in the version for four hands piano, with Ruben Micieli and Pierre Marie Gasnier on the piano at the Danish Academy.
Symphony no. 7 in E major WAB 107, written by Bruckner between 1881 and 1883 and dedicated to king Louis II of Bavaria, represents an integral part of his vast symphonic repertoire, known for its complexity. Structured in the four traditional movements Allegro moderato, Adagio, Scherzo and Finale, the Seventh Symphony is considered one of the Austrian composer's most important and admired works and appears characterized by a sense of grandeur and drama, which Bruckner achieves through the use of large orchestrations very colorful in the most significant features. Considered his masterpiece, the symphony alternates passionate themes with idyllic, singable melodies.
The truly interesting feature of this performance, however, is the new version proposed for four hands piano. In fact, the transcription for piano allows you to experience the nuances and musical structures of this symphony in a more intimate and deep way in a chamber music context. The piano version also gives a different perspective on the work, allowing the musicians to highlight the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic elements more clearly and evidently, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the beauty of Bruckner's music.
