Considerate la vostra semenza:
fatti non foste a viver come bruti,
ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza
(Inferno, Canto XXVI)
A suggestive journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise in search of love: it's the new and even more spectacular edition of the Divine Comedy Opera Musical, the first musical work based on the poem by Dante Alighieri, is back on the stage of Teatro Brancaccio with the direction of Andrea Ortis.
In a continuous succession of immersive scenographies, acrobatic choreography, with constantly changing 3D scenes, special effects and compelling music, the show accompanies the audience on the most famous journey in history: a narrative voice interpreting Dante reads the masterpiece like an animated book that gives life to the poet's fantasy.
Among stormy seas, petrified forests, frozen lakes, autumnal woods and heavenly scenarios, Dante moves accompanied by his master Virgil, meeting extraordinary characters on his way: from Charon to Paul and Francesca, from Pier delle Vigne to Count Ugolino, from Catone to Pia de' Tolomei and Matelda, and, finally, to the beloved Beatrice, symbol of Love that moves the sun and other stars, the only possible key to happiness.
Produced by Music International Company, the work boasts a new extraordinary cast and an exceptional creative team - including Gianmario Pagano, together with Andrea Ortis, for the texts, Marco Frisina for the music, Massimiliano Volpini for the choreography and Valerio Tiberi for the lights - for a colossal production which obtained the prestigious patronage of Società Dante Alighieri, from which was also awarded the Gold Medal.
