The wonderful and complex world behind a drop of honey, produced through hard work and industry: after last year’s success, the exhibition dedicated to honey bees and the particular life cycle of these insects with an extraordinary social organization returns to open to the public.
Videos and models, beekeeping materials and preparations that come from the museum’s entomological collections guide visitors to discover the “way of the bees” and their crucial role in the pollination of plants and in the conservation of biodiversity: bees are in fact also important biological indicators able to provide us, through their presence or through their products, important information on the environment’s health.
In addition to discovering the equipment used in beekeeping and the main products of the hive – honey, pollen, propolis – used for their properties not only in food but also in medicine and agriculture, visitors can enjoy a unique sensory experience: a journey inside a beehive recreated with a multimedia simulation.
A special mascot, the Agnes Bee, is the protagonist of a game-quiz with multiple answers on the free App “AppAgnese” which allows you to receive a “Certificate of awareness and commitment” to help bees survive, to be shared on social with the hashtag #iostoconlapeagnese.
