The evocative folk music of Chiarastella, the original project conceived by Ambrogio Sparagna, awaits you at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. An integral part of Natalè Auditorium, the event celebrates its 17th edition this year and is an opportunity to once again joyfully sing Christmas together, amid pastorals and bagpipe sounds.
The show presented this year by the Orchestra Popolare Italiana of the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the Coro Popolare directed by Anna Rita Colaianni sees the participation of Peppe Servillo, Ziad Trabelsi and Theodoro Melissinopoulos. It expresses the desire for peace and communion among peoples with the power of music linked to the Franciscan tradition, starting from the example of St. Francis’ Canticle of the Creatures and ancient medieval laude.
Spread as early as the Middle Ages thanks to religious and monastic orders, many songs of the Italian popular sacred tradition are imbued with great mystical intensity and are still found today in popular narratives connected to the pilgrimage experience and in the sacred performances of the Advent cycle. The mystical, simple and popular character that characterizes this repertoire widespread in many areas of the Italian Peninsula, however, can also be found in other religious faiths, such as the Judaic, Orthodox and Islamic faiths, which have in turn had a strong impact on Italian history.
