The summer of cinema and culture is back with the traditional festival on the Tiber Island, a magical and suggestive place between the two banks of the Tiber.
The festival celebrates its 28th edition with a completely renewed look and an extraordinary program: eighty evenings full of news with outdoor screenings, exhibitions, special events, awards, masterclasses and meetings with Italian and international guests.
Great tribute to Monica Vitti, unforgettable interpreter of the big screen, and Ettore Scola, extraordinary director and screenwriter of masterpieces such as We all loved each other so much, A Special Day, Ugly, Dirty and Bad.
On the schedule is Mamma Roma e le Città, a national short film competition open to young directors under 30, focused on the great writer and director Pier Paolo Pasolini for the centenary of his birth.
From 9 to 14 July, six days of projections and meetings are dedicated to the Nouvelle Vague for the twinning with the prestigious Parisian festival, scheduled at the same time on the banks of the Seine.
The island is also multicultural with Isola Mondo, the section dedicated to international cinema. It takes you to discover the cinema of other countries - including Brazil, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Cuba - with a lively and exciting spirit.
For this edition, the ship-shaped stone island shines the spotlight on the themes of innovation and sustainability with the focus Arena 2050. Space also for gastronomic excellence with a festival of Made in Italy food. Here, you can enjoy an experience of taste and flavours in the food points representing the transparency of the supply chain and the authenticity of local products.
