
Cuban music is the protagonist of this evening at the New Auditorium, which sees the vocal talent of Aimée Nuviola and the pianist one of Gonzalo Rubalcaba join together to give life to the Viento y Tiempo project.
Having met as children at the Havana Conservatory where they studied, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Aimée Nuviola are two leading personalities in music: she is the winner of a Grammy and a Latin Grammy, he of two Grammys and of the same number of Latin Grammys, as well as to be also one of the most famous jazz pianists in the world.
Cuban music, which derives from the mixture of African roots and European cultures and which has influenced many other different genres, including jazz, is in fact characterized by an unparalleled wealth of styles, sounds and rhythms as well as a popular soul that has never lost; the two extraordinary performers know how to convey to the public all the charm and suggestion of this musical universe.
The Viento y Tiempo project was recorded in a few evenings at the Blue Note in Tokyo and the disc was released on the Top Stop Music label, a specialist in Latin genres.
