For the fourth consecutive year, the Eternal City hosts the final stage of the 2026 Giro d'Italia: the 131 km Corsa Rosa, starting in the EUR district and finishing at the Circus Maximus, after a circuit to be repeated eight times.
The final stage of the 109th edition of the Giro d'Italia is divided into two parts: the approach, from the start in Rome-EUR, to the first passage over the finish line, reaching the coast and then Ostia, then returning to the start area and following the final circuit (8 laps) inside the capital. The 9.5 km circuit runs entirely along the wide city streets; it alternates between short undulations and long straights connected by sometimes challenging curves. The road surface is mostly asphalt with a few short sections of cobblestones or "sanpietrini"; the final kilometers have only a few slight changes in direction. On the final 350 m straight on asphalt, the road gradient reaches 5% halfway through the last kilometer.
Following the success of previous editions, also the Family Ride returns, a free event open to the whole family, adults and children, and to anyone who chooses to spend a day dedicated to sport, pedaling through the streets of the centre of one of the world's most beautiful cities. The event, organized by Roma Capital and RCS Sports & Events, takes place on Sunday morning, May 31st, during the Grand Arrival.
Further information and updates are available on the event's official website.
