Fitwalking, or the art of walking, is a sporting activity that anyone can do, combining fun, relaxation, health and wellbeing. On 28 September, in many Italian cities, it will be possible to participate in the ninth edition of Fitwalking for AIL, the non-competitive charity walk created to celebrate World Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia Day and organised to raise funds in support of the Italian Association against Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma’s projects for research and assistance to patients with blood cancers and their families.
In Rome, the event will take place inside Villa Borghese. The meeting point for all participants is the Fitwalking Village at Parco dei Daini (entrance on Via Pietro Raimondi), one of the enclosed gardens of the villa that was once the hunting grounds of Prince Borghese. The route takes in the beauty of Villa Borghese, passing by the faux ruins of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, Piazza di Siena, the Fontana dei Pupazzi and the Fontana dei Cavalli Marini. The walk will be led by Fausto Certomà, member of the National Scientific Committee for the Development of Fitwalking.
