5 kilometers to say no to violence against women using the universal language and inclusive power of sport.
Organised in collaboration with Sport e Salute, FIDAL and PuroSangue, Corri Libera is a sporting event with strong social value. The event is promoted by the Minister for Family, Birth and Equal Opportunities Eugenia Roccella, the Minister for Sport and Youth Andrea Abodi, and the Minister for Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The event will take place on Sunday, 23 November. It will include both a competitive race and a non-competitive run, open to anyone who wants to participate in an event with special significance and demonstrate their commitment first-hand: the world of competitive running, FIDAL-registered athletes, sports groups from the armed forces and law enforcement agencies, but also running enthusiasts, school and university students, representatives of institutions and citizens.
The race will start at 10 a.m. from the Colosseum (Via Celio Vibenna) and wind its way through some of Rome’s most evocative and symbolic locations, ending at the finish line in Via dei Fori Imperiali. The Colle Oppio Park will host the institutional village and the reception point for participants, with information stands dedicated to the theme of violence against women, promoting the value of respect among the younger generations and raising awareness of the tools available to women who are victims of violence.
