Corpo Libero - Festa della Danza di Roma 2024

Rome hosts the second edition of Corpo Libero - Festa della Danza di Roma, the event promoted by Roma Capitale and the Department of Cultural Activities, with the collaboration of Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the organization of Zètema Progetto Cultura.

Dedicated to contemporary dance in all its forms, the initiative opens the summer season with a joyous festival open to all ages and audiences, spread throughout the territory, inclusive, sustainable and with a low environmental impact. A rich program of performances, shows with live music, social dances, free workshops, activities for children, experiences for the elderly and dance practices for people with disabilities will animate the public spaces of 15 city municipalities for seven days, bringing the passion, energy and talent of emerging artists and established professionals to the streets, courtyards, squares and gardens of the city.

New to this edition are the “long durational performances,” continuous performance actions that the audience can walk through and experience as real temporary installations. Also this year, the Ada D’Adamo Prize is awarded during the event, the recognition reserved for those who have been able to interpret the fusion of artistic experience and social functions and those who have distinguished themselves in the field of accessibility of languages and involvement of active citizenship or people with disabilities.

Festa della Danza di Roma relies on prestigious collaborations: in addition to the confirmation of a number of strategic partners, embassies, international, national and city institutions and cultural institutes participate in the event, as well as dance and training schools with a wide-ranging involvement.
