The Smile Orchestra of Rome conducted by Maestro Catalin Montanaro presents the A tutto Swing concert at the "Ettore Scola" open-air theater at the Casa del Cinema. The concert pays tribute to the link between cinema and music through the songs that have made swing famous all over the world, together with the great musicians who have been protagonists such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong and Tommy Dorsey.
Born in 2016 from an idea of Maestro Catalin Montanaro, the Smile Orchestra follows a typical 1940s swing orchestra and the repertoire traces the golden period of the Swing Era. In recent years the orchestra has performed, gaining increasing success, even in important places such as the Historical Museum of the Military Air Force in Bracciano, the neoclassical theater "Flavio Vespasiano" in Rieti, the historic Circolo degli Esteri in Rome and for important events sponsored by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism. This year the orchestra participated in the International Jazz Day and in a concert to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
A special evening then, to relive the magical atmospheres of the 1940s.
