A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol-Foto: locandina ufficiale dello spettacolo

The most famous story by Charles Dickens is on stage at the Ghione Theater directed by Valentina Cognatti. The show, whose protagonist is Gigi Palla, takes us back to the winter and snowy atmospheres of Victorian London, with all its charm and decadence: a city where poverty, misery, illiteracy reign, all elements that invite the public to reflect on the contradictions of an era like that of the late nineteenth century, arousing multiple emotions against the backdrop of suggestive music and images.

Published in London in 1843 with the original title of A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost-Story of Christmas, is a ghost story illustrated by John Leech and is undoubtedly one of Charles Dickens' most famous and popular works. The famous story tells the story of the protagonist Ebenezer Scrooge, an old and miserly man, who receives a visit from a series of ghosts who try to make him change: the first to warn him is Jacob Marley, his late friend and former business partner; then follow the spirits of Christmas past, present and future. After these appearances, Scrooge will emerge definitively changed, becoming a much kinder and more generous man.
