The exhibition spaces of the Central Institute for Cataloging and Documentation host the photographic exhibition There is time for medlars. New narratives from the Great War, curated by Francesca Fabiani and Alessandro Coco, with Chiara Capodici, Peter Lang and Francesca Lazzarini.
The exhibition celebrates the centenary of the establishment of the Parks and Avenues of Remembrance, created to honor the sacrifice of fallen soldiers, after the end of the First World War, one hundred years ago. The different works – performance, illustration, documentary photography, installation – of nine artists are exhibited: Fabrizio Bellomo, Riccardo Cecchetti, Claudio Gobbi, Stefano Graziani, Hitnes, Alessandro Imbriaco, Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs and Moira Ricci.
The title of the exhibition takes up the sentence "Medlars ripen in time and with straw", alluding to the practice of preserving these fruits in the dark under straw, and which appears in a letter sent by a soldier to his family during the war, as a sort of advice to be patient and wait for better times.
