Enhancing the different values and the beauty of the extraordinary world of water through the cinematic and documentation tool is what the Aqua Film Festival, the international film festival hosted at the Casa del Cinema, does.
Now in its seventh edition, the event aims to stimulate greater awareness of this natural element and also discover new cinematographic talents in the audiovisual field.
On the programme are film and great stories screenings related to environmental sustainability and culture, including the fragment of the short documentary "Il ruscello di Ripasottile" (1941) by Roberto Rossellini and the short film "Ricordi di Sergio e Gianni al Fontanone" on Sergio Leone by Roberto Girometti, a guest at the festival, and by the recently departed journalist Gianni Minà.
The short films in competition, coming from all over the world, are divided, according to their duration, into two sections: Corti (max 25 minutes) and Cortini (max 3 minutes). Furthermore, the festival includes two parallel competitions: Aqua & Students, in collaboration with schools and universities, with corti (shorts) realized with smartphones, in which water is the absolute protagonist; Aqua & Cooking, dedicated to video recipes which, by origin and creativity, interpret a sustainable Italian cuisine.
The festival, organized by the non-profit cultural association UNIVERSI AQUA, has free admission subject to availability and can be viewed in streaming on the Mymovies platform.
