Sunday, 9 November, is the first of five eco-friendly Sundays that will see a ban on internal combustion engine vehicles in the “Fascia verde” restricted traffic zone (ZTL). The ban will be in place from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The rescheduling of the afternoon restrictions was decided in order to facilitate the smooth flow of spectators arriving for and leaving the football match scheduled at the Stadio Olimpico at 6 p.m.
All details regarding the environmental class of the vehicles concerned, any categories exempted or derogated from the restrictions, and any changes to dates and times, which may occur especially in view of the extraordinary events linked to the Jubilee, can be found in the Mayor's Order No. 152/2025.
On the occasion of the eco-friendly Sunday, as in previous editions, the Assessorato capitolino all'Agricoltura, Ambiente e ciclo dei rifiuti (Department of Agriculture, Environment and Waste Cycle) has organised, through a tender awarded to Zètema, a programme of entertainment and awareness-raising events on the themes of sustainability and environmental protection, which will be held at six locations along Via Ottaviano and Piazza Risorgimento.
From 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., the locations will be brought to life with a packed programme of events designed to engage adults and children alike, including comedy and circus performances, juggling displays, magic shows, acrobatic breakdancing, street theatre performances, stilt walkers and concerts: from Cuban music by trumpeter Miguel Jimenez Diaz to the great classics of Italian music in a guitar performance alternating with readings by poets and writers, to a journey through Irish myths and traditions through the sound of the violin. Throughout the day, a play area will also be set up with games made from eco-friendly materials such as wooden tracks, trains and spinning tops, where activities for children and families will be organised.
The second eco-friendly Sunday, 7 December, is also the first Sunday of the month, when admission to civic museums is free (find out more here): yet another opportunity to strengthen the link between the environment, culture and the local area, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of Rome even more.
