The exhibition presents the work of the emerging artists selected by the AccadeMibact Award, the initiative promoted by the General Direction for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, which aims to give visibility to young Italian artists under 28 and to enhance the Academies of Fine Arts.
On the scene, ten artist-thinkers who, with their eyes turned to the everyday life, observe history, interpret the myth, investigate the intimacy of the present, and question the collective individual conscience, giving life to a story leading beyond the visible.
The new generation of visual artists, with their critical positions, thus seems to take on the responsibility to wonder about the excess of the present, that seems to swallow every perspective on the future.
Without fear of a real confrontation with time in its various shades, the works on display disrupt a language that accompanies us every day, revealing a multifaceted portrait of the contemporary. The artists involved seem interested in reinterpreting what is apparently familiar from an extraordinary point of view, revealing unexplored territories where there are no linear streets, tracing paths towards new worlds, in which it becomes possible to travel in search of what has been, what is, what will be.
Some of the works on display represent a reflection on popular or mythological tradition, reinventing its founding structures. Others dialogue with history, with its passing or more cumbersome shadows. Other works act on our deepest perceptive and sensory mechanisms, allowing us to rethink the environment around us, or act on memory areas capable of triggering a forgotten imaginary.
In Domani Qui Oggi (Tomorrow Here Today), each work calls into questions the codes on which our knowledge travels, on which our relationships are based, in an attempt to invent an iconography of the contemporary and to give shape to a new aesthetic for "Tomorrow".
