The pleasure of honesty by Luigi Pirandello is staged at the Teatro de' Servi directed by Luca Ferrini. The comedy in three acts, written by the great Sicilian author in 1917 and staged in the same year, is taken from his 1905 novel Tirocinio (Apprenticeship).
In the comedy, to escape a dissipated life, the protagonist Baldovino agrees to marry Agata who is pregnant with Fabio and whom he cannot marry because he is already married. In this way Baldovino constructs a façade of honesty, living from that moment on as in an artificial and constructed form. But, at the very moment in which Baldovino realizes that he loves Agata, the mask fails and he decides to leave; In the meantime, Agata, having fallen in love with Baldovino, wants to follow him, so he chooses to stay. In this way the false conventions collapse and Life destroys Form, giving life to a new and superior one.
Among the main performers, we remember: Michele Cosentini, Loredana Solfizi, Maurizio Ranieri, Luca Ferrini, Alberto Melone and Monica Belardinelli.
