A limitless creative explosion is at the centre of the great exhibition project of the Chiostro del Bramante, curated by Danilo Eccher, dedicated to 21 international artists.
The works of art, including more than 11 unreleased site-specific installations, invade the exhibition venue external and internal spaces, giving a totalizing immersive experience. It is not an ordinary and predictable path because madness, like art, has no limits: it rejects established schemes, rigid frameworks, constraints.
Perceiving the world is the first sign of instability. It is the first contact between external reality and the brain, between physical truth and poetic creativity, between optical laws and neurological disorders.
The exhibition path occupies all available places, even those usually excluded, giving life to a complex and subjective narration between works and isolated and autonomous spaces. The genius and creative inspiration expand as the colourful pigment flows on the stairs by the English abstractionist Ian Davenport; or modify the perception of space, like the environment of Gianni Colombo (1970). The various works of art invade every accessible room with an unstoppable expressive power: from the neon lights of the Chilean Alfredo Jaar, also visible outside, to the all-encompassing immersion by Fallen Fruit, the duo formed by David Allen Burns and Austin Young.
Other artists on display are Carlos Amorales, Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir/Shoplifter, Massimo Bartolini, Petah Coyne, Janet Echelman, Lucio Fontana, Anne Hardy, Thomas Hirschhorn, Alfredo Pirri, Gianni Politi, Tobias Rehberger, Anri Sala, Yinka Shonibare, Sissi, Max Streicher, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu.
