From 27 to 29 November 2026, the Teatro Brancaccio hosts the famous musical inspired by Charles Dickens’s great classic, a timeless story which, through music, emotion and evocative atmospheres, invites audiences to rediscover the truest meaning of Christmas.
Produced by Compagnia dell’Alba in co-production with TSA Teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo, the show tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a cynical, miserly moneylender who hates Christmas. London, 1843: on Christmas Eve, the spirit of his late business partner, Jacob Marley, appears, wrapped in heavy chains and chests, warning him against continuing to live a life of greed and selfishness. The ghost announces that three spirits will visit him: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The morning after his shocking night-time vision of the ghosts, Scrooge wakes up changed, ready to celebrate Christmas with his nephew Fred and his family and open his heart.
On stage, directed and choreographed by Fabrizio Angelini, an extraordinary cast of performers – including Roberto Ciufoli in the title role – brings this timeless and moving tale to life through musical numbers, dance and period costumes, accompanied by Alan Menken’s splendid music, with Gabriele Moreschi’s evocative sets.
