The Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos presents his latest work, Landless, composed for dancer Georgios Kotsifakis, at the Vascello Theater as part of REF2026. Inspired by modern and postmodern architecture, the choreography explores the loss of certainties and the search for new possibilities of movement, where gesture, space, and perception are redefined in a personal logic, suspended between the natural and the artificial, in an investigation of the body as a transforming territory.
This work continues the dialogue between Christos Papadopoulos and the Romaeuropa Festival, which has closely followed the Greek choreographer's career in recent years, also following the collaboration with dancer Georgios Kotsifakis, for whom this choreography was created. Landless is part of Papadopoulos's research, in which the body is conceived as space and organized according to its own internal logic that reworks functions, trajectories, and relationships. From these aspects, a narrative emerges that centers on movement, reinvented in its relationship with the surrounding space.
