This summer, Make the Difference, there's... the Sustainability Festival, a project that promotes sustainable development through events, workshops, and exhibitions dedicated to art, creative recycling, and innovation, and, more generally, that welcomes new ideas and new ways to safeguard our environment, is back.
The festival, now in its 7th edition, features a rich program combining art, educational workshops, sports, and entertainment, presenting itself as a large, open laboratory where citizens, artists, associations, businesses, and young generations can engage in dialogue around a central theme: how to transform ideas into concrete actions for a more balanced future. The heart of the event is Contesteco 2026, the contest dedicated to sustainable art and design, in which artists, designers, and creatives create works that interpret the concept of sustainability through diverse materials, languages, and perspectives.
The event will involve several locations in the capital, such as the Euroma2 Shopping Center in Rome's Municipio IX, where the initial phase of the event kicks off. Here, the public can attend art exhibitions, participate in workshops, meet reclaimed materials artisans, and learn about organizations committed daily to building sustainable models. The aim is to make sustainability an accessible experience, bridging the gap between theory and practice. The Festival focuses on directly engaging visitors: not just spectators, but participants in a journey of knowledge, discussion, and creativity.
The project is promoted by Rome Capital – Department of Culture, as part of the public notice Creative Rome 365. Culture all year round, in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura, and aims to enhance the role of culture as a tool for change.
