Great enthusiasm in the capital for the sixteenth edition of Rome's Night of Museums, which last night transformed the Civic Museums and many other cultural venues into spaces of celebration and sharing. The event closed with approximately 80,000 attendees, a figure that consolidates the steady growth trend of recent editions: 78,000 attendees in 2025 and 73,000 in 2024.
From the opening at 8:00 PM, the public demonstrated great participation, consistently filling the city's more than 70 exhibition spaces and cultural sites throughout the evening. These cultural venues responded excellently to this large turnout, allowing the event to proceed smoothly and orderly until closing at 2:00 AM. A strong attendance was also seen among younger audiences, drawn by the rich program of events and entertainment spread throughout the city.
Rome's Civic Museums system performed well, attracting a total of approximately 50,000 visitors. Among the most popular destinations were the Capitoline Museums and the Campidoglio, with approximately 8,000 visitors, and the Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi, with approximately 7,000. Trajan's Market - Museum of the Imperial Forums also enjoyed strong interest, with approximately 3,500 visitors, and the Ara Pacis Museum, which welcomed approximately 3,000 people.
The evening also featured numerous significant moments, not only at the Civic Museums, but also at other cultural venues in the city that participated in the initiative. This enthusiasm was further demonstrated by the high attendance figures recorded at some of the city's cultural venues, such as the Sapienza University of Rome's Museum Centre, with over 8,000 attendees, and the Palazzo Esposizioni Roma, which attracted approximately 2,500 people.
