The parish was erected on February 22, 1957 with the decree of the Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara Qua celeritate and entrusted to the diocesan clergy of Rome. From the beginning the church was housed in a building not suited to its function - a building that still houses a chapel and is connected to the parish offices and the priests' lodgings. At the end of the 90s of the twentieth century, the actual church was finally built based on a project from the 60s. Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini presided over the dedication of the parish church in the new location on September 23, 1999. The territory, taken from that of San Filippo Neri alla Pineta Sacchetti, was determined within the following boundaries: Via Eugenio IV from Via della Pineta Sacchetti to Via di Primavalle - Via di Primavalle on the left to Via Lucio II - said Via to Via del Fosso di Primavalle - Via del Fosso di Primavalle on the right to Via delle Calasanziane - then follow the Fosso di Primavalle to Via del Casale di Primavalle - Via della Pineta Sacchetti from Via del Casale di Primavalle to the bridge on the Rome-Viterbo railway - Rome-Viterbo railway line to the Aurelio plateau - said line including all the properties with an entrance upstream, up to Via del Pineto Torlonia - Via del Pineto Torlonia on the right until Via della Pineta Sacchetti, where you follow on the left until Via Eugenio IV mentioned above. The recognition for civil purposes was decreed on August 20, 1959. The building complex, owned by the Pontifical Society for the Preservation of the Faith and the Provision of New Churches in Rome, was built in 1959 according to the design of Renato Costa. Since 2007 it has been the seat of the diaconate of San Lino Papa.
