Daniele Gatti returns to the podium of the Auditorium Parco della Musica to conduct the Orchestra and Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, with a program whose main themes are spirituality and reflection on human destiny: the opening performance will be two intense choral works by Johannes Brahms, The Song of the Fates (Gesang der Parzen), inspired by the tragedy Iphigenia in Tauris by Wolfgang von Goethe, and the Song of Destiny (Schicksalslied), based on a poem written by Friedrich Hölderlin.
In the second part of the concert Gatti conducts Anton Bruckner's Ninth Symphony, his last, unfinished masterpiece dedicated by him "to his beloved God", pervaded by a sense of expectation, suspension and transcendent impetus.
