Corsa del Ricordo 2020

A ten-kilometer race to keep alive and pass on the memory of a dramatic chapter in Italian history. Also this year the running world commemorates, through the universal voice of the sport, the National Memorial Day instituted in honor of all the victims of the Foibe mass killings and consequent Italian Istrian-Dalmatian exodus during the second World War II and immediately after.

Organized by ASI Rome and now in its seventh edition, the Corsa del Ricordo is a heartfelt and participated race that takes place symbolically in the Giuliano-Dalmata district of Rome, where the families of Italian exiles moved and where many of their heirs still live, keeping the memory of their origins intact.

The now traditional appointment winds along a challenging track with start and finish line in via Oscar Senigaglia, where winners are awarded in front of the Foibe memorial by authorities and champions of the past. Thanks to the support of the Italian Army, runners cross the military city of Cecchignola. In addition to the competitive race, everyone has the opportunity to participate in a 3-km race, walking, marching or running, to experience a day of sport together, the best way to launch a message of union and brotherhood.
