On October 24 and 25, 2026, the Japanese Market returns to the Capannelle Hippodrome with the Japan Days dedicated to the land of the Rising Sun with over one hundred exhibitors will be present, along with workshops, games corners, entertainment, and refreshment stands, with free admission every day from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm.
The event, as usual, includes performances and showcases, cultural tours, courses and workshops, talks, presentations, cosplay, J-pop, K-pop, arcade games, board games, family activities, martial arts, exhibitions, show cooking and food workshops, in addition to the large Market Zone ideally divided between more traditional anime and the "hyper" contemporary universe.
Matcha tea tastings and introductory sessions dedicated to sake are also available. Among the workshops, we particularly highlight those on kintsugi (an ancient Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics using lacquer and gold dust), shodō (calligraphy), Japanese language, mizuhiki (a traditional Japanese art of creating decorative knots using thin, starched paper strings), origami, bonsai, ikebana, kodekama (an ancient Japanese cultivation technique), manga drawings, and much more. The most interesting aspect of the October event is undoubtedly the focus on Japanese folklore. As Halloween approaches, supernatural creatures like yōkai - apparitions, ghosts, demons, terrifying half-animal, half-human beings - are more present than ever; the universe of manga and anime has drawn heavily from them, ranging from GeGeGe no Kitarō to Natsume of the Spirits, via Inuyasha, Pokémon, Yo-kai Watch, Studio Ghibli, and a considerable number of video games. Kyogen, the ancient Japanese comic theater born from the samurai tradition, and the masks of Noh theater will also be present.
The Food & Drink Area draws on the gastronomic imagery of Japanese matsuri, offering takoyaki, onigiri, gyoza, and karaage, as well as ramen, Japanese curry, dango, dorayaki, and daifuku, alongside street food and products typically associated with konbini.
