The 29th edition of the FESTIVAL DI PASQUA (Easter Festival), the prestigious performing arts event, begins on Saturday 28 March at 8 pm at the Basilica of San Crisogono with Mozart’s Requiem, and concludes on Sunday 24 May at 8 pm with Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem Mass, offering, as is tradition, a packed programme of live performances dedicated to sacred music in Rome during the Easter period in the city’s most important and monumental churches, basilicas and palaces.
Among the major concerts scheduled are the traditional events: the ‘Palm Sunday Concert’ on Sunday 29 March at the Basilica of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini at 8 pm, the “Holy Wednesday Concert” on 1 April, the “Easter Concert” on Sunday 5 April, the “Easter Monday Concert” on 6 April at the Pantheon at 5 pm, and the “Pentecost Sunday Concert” on 24 May 2026.
Founded in 1998 by Enrico Castiglione with the aim of creating, in Rome – the world capital of Catholicism – a festival dedicated to the extraordinary artistic heritage of Christianity to mark the Great Jubilee of 2000, the EASTER FESTIVAL has, for the past twenty-eight years, offered a rich programme of concerts and events featuring sacred music and art at every annual edition, drawing on choral, orchestral and theatrical ensembles, and world-renowned artists, presenting live performances of music, theatre and dance of Christian inspiration, ranging from the origins of the oratorio as a form of liturgical elevation in music and prose to the most recent and significant contemporary creations, but also and above all world premieres and rediscoveries of operas, oratorios and plays that have been forgotten or even never performed again in Italy and around the world: performances that have become historic, broadcast by the main international television networks.
