Complementing the system of public libraries, Rome’s network of study rooms has been designed to provide spaces dedicated to reading, studying and socialising (free of charge and open to all) within museums, cultural venues and redeveloped public spaces. Spread throughout the city, both in the historic center and in the outlying neighborhoods, the study rooms are accessible and welcoming public facilities that showcase Rome’s cultural heritage and local experiences.
Opened in June 2025, the study room at the Casa del Cinema is run by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma. Together with the study room at the Pietro Canonica Museum, it is one of the strategic facilities dedicated to reading, studying and socialising in the grounds of Villa Borghese, just a short walk from Via Veneto, in a welcoming and versatile space that also offers the opportunity to attend film screenings, talks and cinema-related events.
The study room is designed as a professional yet cosy environment, where students and professionals can develop their personal projects in harmony with the site’s cultural atmosphere. It features eight dedicated workstations, designed to provide the necessary tranquillity for those requiring a high level of concentration. A further twenty workstations are available at the Cast - Cine Bistrot café, allowing for flexible use of the spaces in a more dynamic setting, whilst maintaining a focus on intellectual and research activities.
