Il Museo Storico dell'Aeronautica Militare si trova presso l'aeroporto Vigna di Valle in località Bracciano (RM)
The Historical Museum of the Air Force was opened in 1977 in the water airport of Vigna di Valle on the southern shore of the lake of Bracciano. The Museum illustrates the story of a dream, the dream of flying achieved by man after various attempts. The itinerary is set up in four hangers. It starts from the Italian forerunners of flying with the reconstruction of the machines designed by Leonardo da Vinci, and goes up to our days through a long path of ingenious discoveries and tragic remembrances of wars and air bombings. Images, panels, and faithful reproductions of historical aircraft and of accurately restored originals are arranged in an unusual setting on several levels.
