Also this year, the historic festival dedicated to Italian and international literature, scheduled in July, opens with a preview at the Casa delle Letterature in June, with important international guests. The festival's program is curated by Simona Cives, head of the Casa delle Letterature, with the contribution of a scientific committee composed of prominent protagonists of the literary scene, such as Paolo Di Paolo, Melania Mazzucco, Davide Orecchio, Igiaba Scego and Nadia Terranova.
The preview includes 5 events, all at 7 p.m. On Thursday, 8 June, British writer Bernardine Evaristo, with Djarah Kan and Igiaba Scego, will present her book “Girl, Woman, Other”, winner of the Man Booker Prize and a British Book Award, and a finalist for the Orwell Prize for Political Literature and the Women’s Prize for Fiction. On Friday, 9 June, four-time Booker Prize finalist Ali Smith will present “Companion Piece” with Paola Soriga. On Tuesday, 13 June, Mexican writer Brenda Lozano, along with Nadia Terranova, will present “Witches”. The Strega Prize 2023 finalists, with Melania Mazzucco, are at the center of the Friday, 16 June meeting, while on Thursday, 22 June, Liberian-born writer Anna Maria Gehnyei will present “The Black Body” with Davide Orecchio and Igiaba Scego.
