Il lago dei cigni

The Teatro dell'Opera di Roma presents one of the most famous and romantic titles ever, which returns to the stage with extraordinary choreography by Benjamin Pech and musical direction by Koen Kessels.

First performed at the Bol'šoj Theatre in Moscow in February 1877, Swan Lake, in the vision of the French choreographer, is a refined version of the tale that tells the eternal struggle between Good and Evil against the backdrop of Aldo Buti's evocative setting.

The protagonist Odette and her alter ego, the deceitful Odile - the white swan and the black swan, symbols of the two opposing forces - Benno and Prince Siegfried are the interpreters of a story of love, passion and, above all, betrayal, a central element in Pech's version.  

On stage - on the splendid notes of Pyotr Il'ič Tchaikovsky, performed by the Orchestra of the Opera House - an extraordinary cast: the étoiles, the principal dancers, and the Corps de Ballet of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, together with Fumi Kaneko, making her debut at the Costanzi, and Vadim Muntagirov, both principal dancers of the Royal Ballet of London.
