Music & Music. Spring 2024

This year the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio presents again the spring season of Musica & Musica 2024 edition.

The event, now in its 36th edition, this time has as its central theme the relationship between different musical languages ​​and how the latter influence each other. In fact, starting from ancient music, we find quotes taken from popular music, just as classical, jazz but also pop and rock sounds are present in contemporary popular music.

The groups participating in the event have been working on this kind of musical mixes for some time, offering increasingly original results so as to create a true "Italian style"; this style, rich as it is in ideas and proposals, comes from the experience of music that blends tradition and innovation in a harmonious way.

Among the scheduled events we remember: the Quintetto estroVerso, which presents academic and popular traditional compositions arranged for the occasion for a chamber quintet, the Trio Filia, which takes us on a musical journey made up of folk dances, costumes and musical pieces search for new sounds; the Antonello Sorrentino quartet author of original songs, influenced by tradition and contemporary music. Finally, the Rosario Cicero trio, with percussion and string instruments for a baroque to be rediscovered.
