Compagnie XY is among the most numerous and acclaimed new circus companies in France and worldwide: for Möbius, the show that inaugurates the 36th edition of the Romaeuropa festival in the sign of lightness and celebration, the company was inspired by the movements of the schools of fish, bees, groups of trees and starlings that, with their synchronized flight, give life to incredible and mesmerizing drawings in the skies.
The result is a poem that celebrates the mysterious and inscrutable charm of nature’s rituals, a swirling choreography at the crossroads between dance and acrobatics, dream and gravity. Under the vigilant eye of Rachid Ouramdane, the choreagrapher today at the helm of the Théâtre National de Chaillot, the 19 performers on stage explore the boundaries of the acrobatic art, between sudden flashes and reckless flights, clouds and towers of bodies that fill the stage at the speed of light and break up dramatically.
